Anal Gland Abscess
An abscess is of pocket or walled off area of pus. They are caused by infection of the anal gland(s). They are a firm, red, and swollen lump in the area near the anus. When the pressure continues to build, the abscess may rupture on its own or require surgical opening to drain it.
